Professor Donglin Jiang, from Institute of Molecular Science(IMS), Japan, paid a visit to our group and gave us a report entitled with "Two-Dimensional Polymers and Frameworks: Design, Synthesis and Applications". Prof. Donglin Jiang majors in the synthesis of 2D or 3D highly ordered organic framework materials with adjustable structure.
Professor Zhanting Li from Fudan University paid a visit to our group and gave us a report entitled with “超分子有机框架:液相和固相的自组装周期性”. Prof. Zhanting Li was the winner of The National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars and majors in organic supermolecules and physical organic chemistry.
Huimin Ding, a 3rd year master student from our group, won the National Scholarship! Congratulations!
Professor João Manuel Cunha Rodrigues from University of Madeira, Portugal, visited our group. Prof. Rodrigues majors in inorganic chemistry, metal organic chemistry and nano materials including dendrimers and metal polymers.
Professor Jean-Pierre Sauvage, the academician of French Academy of Sciences, was invited to our group to gave us a report entitled with “Catenanes and Rotaxanes in Motion : The Transition Metal Approach”. In Prof. Sauvage's report he introduced how the yields of supermolecules, especially rotaxane and catenane, can be improved by template-synthesis, which effectively developed this field. In addition, Prof. Sauvage was offered a appointment as a guest professor of Wuhan University and the certificate was presented by dean Xiang Zhou.
Professor Zhengtao Xu from the Department of Biology and Chemistry, City University of Hong Kong, paid a visit to our group and gave us a report entitled with "Sulfur in the pore: tailoring coordination networks for metal uptake, sensing and other applications".

Professor Hongcai (Joe) Zhou, from Texas A&M University, paid a visit to our lab on July 11-12, 2012. Congratulations to Joe on his appointment as guest professor at Wuhan University. The secretary of the Party Committee of CCMS, Professor Ziyuan Li, conferred the certificate on him before his speech. He gave us a lecture titled “Assembly of Metal-Organic Frameworks, One Cavity at A Time” and discussed with faculty and students from CCMS.
Dr. Wang Joined the Editorial Board of Chemical Rapid Communication (CRC). It is a peer-reviewed journal on all topics of chemistry published by Research Publisher Inc (www.researchpub.org/) and is scheduled to announce its first issue in Jun 2013.
Professor Hsian-Rong Tseng, from UCLA, paid a visit to our group and gave us a report entitled with “Programmable Supramolecular Nanoparticles for Molecular Diagnostics and Therapeutics”. After the report, he had a positive discuss with discussed with faculty and students from CCMS.
Dr. Wang was invited to attend Sino-German Symposium: Organic Photovoltaic Materials and Organic Solar Cells. The symposium was held by University of Electronic Science and Technology of China on Mar 27-31, 2012. He gave a report there and met many old and new friends.
Dr. Wang returned to China from Northwestern University (USA) and officially accepted the job offer from Wuhan University as a full professor. Even though he majored in organic chemistry, he will join the inorganic department of College of Chemistry and Molecular Sciences (CCMC). Good Luck, Cheng!
