October 8, 2019 Sir Fraser Stoddart, recipient of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2016, visited Wuhan University invited by professor Cheng Wang again. He gave a lecture in Wuhan University and took some photos with our group. It is our great honor to listen to the lecture by professor Fraser. We are looking forward for his next visit.

April 7~13, 2019 We were very pleased to welcome professor Jean-Pierre Sauvage, recipient of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2016, to visit us again in this April with his wife invited by professor Cheng Wang. He gave 2 lectures to the undergraduate students and spent some time to comunicate with our group. We all valued this opportunity to present our research work, and professor Sauvage gave us many warm encouragement as well as professional advices for our projects.

April 3, 2019 Prof. Françisco M. Raymo, Department of Chemistry, University of Miami, paid a visit to our group and gave us a report entitled with "Photoswitchable Fluorophores for Bioimaging Applications".

He gave two lectures in Wuhan University and paid a visit to our group.  It is our great honor to communicate with professor Fraser directly and we are very glad to receive red packets from him. June 1, 2018 Prof. Jing Li, from department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology, Rutgers University, paid a visit to our group and gave us a report entitled with "A Strategy in Developing High-performance Hybrid Phosphors for Energy-Efficient Lighting Technologies".

 

 

April 13~20, 2018 Professor Jean-Pierre Sauvage, recipient of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2016 visited Wuhan University again with his wife invited by professor Cheng Wang. He spent one week in Wuhan and gave several lectures in Wuhan University as well as three other universities.During his journey in Wuhan, we have spent plenty of time together and we learned a lot from professor Sauvage. The tour to the Garden Expo Garden and the boat cruising on Yangtze River are precious memories for all the members of our group. Also, the opportunity to present our work with professor Sauvage is a great honor and we have received many helpful advices from professor Sauvage. We are looking forward for his next visit.

 

October 26, 2017 Prof. Dapeng Cao, from State Key Laboratory of Organic-Inorganic Composites, Beijing University of Chemical Technology, paid a visit to our group and gave us a report entitled with "Multi-scale Design and Controllable Preparation of New Nano Micromateria".

 

 

October 26, 2017 Prof. Teng Ben, from State Key Laboratory of Inorganic Synthesis & Preparation Chemistry, Jilin University, paid a visit to our group and gave us a report entitled with "Porous Aromatic Framework and Its Derivatives".

 

 

 

September 2, 2017  Dr. Wang, Guiqing Lin, Bo Gui and Yingfan Zhang attended The First International Symposium on Porous Organic Polymers which was held in Zhangjiajie on Sep 2-6, 2017. Dr. Wang gave an invited talk there.

November 5, 2016 Professor Jean-Marie Lehn, the winner of Nobel Prize of Chemistry at 1987, the “father of supermolecular chemistry”, paid a visit to Wuhan University and gave us a speech entitled with: Perspectives in Chemistry:From molecular to supermolecular chemistry towards adaptive chemistry.

 

 

October, 2016 Bo Gui, second year PhD student and Guiqing Lin, third year master student, won the National Scholarship! Huiming Ding, second year PhD student and Yingfan Zhang, second year master student, won the academy award! Congratulations!  

 

 

September 20, 2016  Dr. Wang was invited to give a speech at Symposium on Frontiers in Porous Organic Polymers 2016. The symposium was held by National Center for Nanoscience and Technology of China on Sep 20-24, 2016. Dr. Wang gave an invited talk there.

April 13, 2016 Professor He Tian, the academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, attended the 134th Luojia Forum and gave us a speech entitled with “Beautiful Chemistry 2.0”. In this talk, professor Tian mainly introduced his understandings about the relationship of basic chemistry research and applications in real life.“Life has been changed because of Chemistry, no matter alive or dead.” He said.

October 5, 2013 Professor Jean-Pierre Sauvage, the academician of French Academy of Sciences, was invited to our group to gave us a report entitled with “Catenanes and Rotaxanes in Motion : The Transition Metal Approach”. In Prof. Sauvage's report he introduced how the yields of supermolecules, especially rotaxane and catenane, can be improved by template-synthesis, which effectively developed this field. In addition, Prof. Sauvage was offered a appointment as a guest professor of Wuhan University and the certificate was presented by dean Xiang Zhou.

 

 

June 17, 2013 Professor Zhengtao Xu from the Department of Biology and Chemistry, City University of Hong Kong, paid a visit to our group and gave us a report entitled with "Sulfur in the pore: tailoring coordination networks for metal uptake, sensing and other applications".

 

 

May 13, 2013 Prof. Deqing Zhang, the Director of Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Dr. Cheng Wang's Ph.D advisor, paid a visit to our group and gave us a report entitled with "基于四硫富瓦烯的功能分子体系研究".

 

July 15, 2012 Professor Hongcai (Joe) Zhou, from Texas A&M University, paid a visit to our lab on July 11-12, 2012. Congratulations to Joe on his appointment as guest professor at Wuhan University. The secretary of the Party Committee of CCMS, Professor Ziyuan Li, conferred the certificate on him before his speech. He gave us a lecture titled “Assembly of Metal-Organic Frameworks, One Cavity at A Time” and discussed with faculty and students from CCMS.

 

July 9, 2012 Dr. Wang Joined the Editorial Board of Chemical Rapid Communication (CRC). It is a peer-reviewed journal on all topics of chemistry published by Research Publisher Inc (www.researchpub.org/) and is scheduled to announce its first issue in Jun 2013.

 

July 6, 2012 Professor Hsian-Rong Tseng, from UCLA, paid a visit to our group and gave us a report entitled with “Programmable Supramolecular Nanoparticles for Molecular Diagnostics and Therapeutics”. After the report, he had a positive discuss with discussed with faculty and students from CCMS.

 

June 6, 2012 Dr. Wang was invited to attend Sino-German Symposium: Organic Photovoltaic Materials and Organic Solar Cells. The symposium was held by University of Electronic Science and Technology of China on Mar 27-31, 2012. He gave a report there and met many old and new friends.

 

March 13, 2012 Dr. Wang returned to China from Northwestern University (USA) and officially accepted the job offer from Wuhan University as a full professor. Even though he majored in organic chemistry, he will join the inorganic department of College of Chemistry and Molecular Sciences (CCMC). Good Luck, Cheng!
